Took some time off this afternoon to think about SEO. I do that once a week.
I did realize I never setup external links to open in the same window; they always go in a new tab/window if it's internet explorer.

I wonder if it has SEO impact and how visitors treat that.

What do you think? and how do you go about it?

    Cheers.

I always open external links in a new window if I'm trying to get the most ad dollars out of a website.

It keeps them "on your page" longer.

You should keep them in new window/tab, else people would start browsing the other one's page and forget about yours. this way, your page is still open in background or in the other tab

    Home Page:
definitelys in a new window so they are still in your page and it will lower your bounce rate.
