This is something I've always been interested in asking the BHW community.

With the majority of us running websites purely for profit and not much else, how many of you take the time out to run your own website as a hobby? One where you don't really worry about the rankings in Google or the CPC or anything like that.

I had one a while ago, about a certain game I was crazy about. Purely hobby based, never cared to make a cent with it because I was so passionate about the game itself that I just wanted to create a site dedicated to it. It was a nice change of pace really. Funny thing is, I ended up selling it due to never having any time to maintain it and add to it, and it ended up being my highest selling website yet. Funny how that works.

Yes I run a site strictly as a hobby, I mean i do have adsense but it makes pratically nothing. I update it almost everyday and its the largest of it kind in my niche. Its something that I am passionaite about and decided to make it about jan of 2011 and now its like the top site for what it is. And I am respected among the niche comminty for my site and my work I put into it.

Well, that's how most of the bloggers start off. First do it as a hobby and later as we come into this world on internet marketing. Many of the most successful bloggers I know started off blogging as a hobby.
