Do you regret the huge expenses you have made on SEO for your website over thr years ?

Unfortunately, you learn more from your mistakes in SEO - Rule No1, question everything!

I revenue to scale up so can't waste a lot of my own money (the money I earned somewhere else).
And TBH, 20k over 6 years is not that much... about 280 a month. But... for 6 years.

SEO can take time and the results can be up and down, so it makes sense to explore other traffic ways too. Think social media, email, and ads

That’s an interesting question! I wouldn’t say I regret the investment—SEO is a long-term game, and while the costs can add up, the benefits in visibility, authority, and organic growth usually outweigh them over time. It’s more about making sure the strategy evolves and delivers a strong return.

Yeah, I’ve seen a few stories like that — SEO can be a long game and sometimes the investment doesn’t pay off if the strategy isn’t right or if there’s heavy competition. It really depends on how the budget’s used and if there’s ongoing adaptation. Would love to hear more experiences and what people learned from those situations.

I didn't regret the expenses because it worths it. I made some money, reinvested some and diversified some to physical businesses.

I was reading a thread here where the member was saying that he spent 20k euros on seo for his site over six years but end result was zero.

Are there more people who suffered such losses. ?
Yes, this kind of loss is more common than most admit. Many spend thousands on backlinks, content, or tools without seeing a return simply because the execution or signal layer was off. These days, what really shifts results is behavioral and technical layering, like simulating clean, geo-matched traffic using fresh mobile proxies. That kind of setup often helps with indexing and ranking even without massive link building.
So it’s less about how much you spend, and more about where and how you deploy it.

Spot on. It’s not about how much you spend, it’s how smartly you execute. Without the right behavioral and technical signals, even heavy investments can flop. Using fresh mobile proxies to simulate clean, geo-aligned traffic and organic sessions often unlocks better indexing and SERP movement, especially when you want to stay under the radar while pushing signals efficiently.

That’s a big investment results often depend on strategy, execution, and ongoing adaptation.

Yes, many have spent heavily on SEO with little or no ROI often due to poor strategy, bad agencies, or lack of patience. It's not uncommon.

So what is your suggestion to avoid such a situation ?
