Just wondered if fellow BH's put their articles they use for backlinking on their website as well as additional content.

If so, do you find it has increased/decreased your serps position as a result?

I have tried it many times for more content although it is smarter to spin it to about 30% as its not looked as duplicate content however I would suggest spinning whether it is automatically or manually

only one of my results was positive, everything else seemed pretty neutral and that couldve been due to link building not new content

The only problem with it is that the good article directories take a while to approve and they won't like it when your content is already indexed on your site. If anything I'd wait until the copy at the place you're submitting it is up (IF they have a rule about unique content).

I put the article on my site and then once it has indexed on my own site I will then submit it elsewhere.
