Do you : No color and No hover effects on hyperlinks ?

    Just a thought, have you done this trick to disable any color and hover effect on hyperlinks? And also make it non clickable.

    The concept is simple:

    Keep users from outbound to sites that doesn't help your conversion.

    This is probly the same ol' trick to make google follow the link (or n0follow it), but not for users to click on it.

    Wondering have any of you guys done it and what's the feedback?

    Edit:

    Just to be clear, I'm not asking how to do it because it's just a simple few lines of code. But whether the search engines see that code and penalize it, is the question I am asking.

    I sometimes wonder this myself but just don't know how to make the link unclickable.

    I think it's more effort than it's worth. Google can read Javascript now too, so I wouldn't be surprised if they slapped you for it.

    Also, if you have a nofollow link, and you don't want users clicking on it, what's the point of it being there in the first place? I'm failing to see how this would benefit anyone.
