If you use chatgpt or openAI content, and you either leave as is or slightly tweak it, do you need to cite them as a source? How does it work. Or are you allowed to just use it as is? Do they have their outputs copyrighted?

Simple answer no you don't need to cite and they aren't copywrited until now.

ok and any idea on mid journey or ai generated images? I feel like that might be more dangerous since they use artist work

I think it's better you check their terms of use for those tools.

No use, as there will be a session where they write that they have the final say in all disputes, so if they want to get you, they will get you regardless of the terms

You can’t copyright something generated by AI as far as I know. Google for more info.

Use it without citing. They are happy with your $20 per month which you are paying them.

Answer: No, you do not.

My suggestion is always to edit the content that ChatGPT outputs. Edit the content so that there's human interference and the content becomes your own.

Even if you didn't edit it, there's no need to cite your source as ChatGPT. Though, I will always advise editing the content.
