Do you need a different CJ ad for every site?

I signed up for the GoDaddy affiliate program at CJ. Can I generate one ad and use it on all my sites or do I have to generate a different ad for every site? I had a friend purchase a domain name after clicking on my link, but I never received credit. I was using the link generated for another one of my sites.

It was also during the 99domain promotion which he used.

Do you know if either of those prevented me from getting the commission?

Well according to their T.O.S. yes, ads can only be run on websites registered in your CJ account and they also must be appropriately tracked individually. I haven't had much of a problem though so what your stated must be due to other reasons. I think they only get anal about something like that if shyt hits the fan and they're looking for a reason to not pay you.

Personally, I configure each of my Web sites and create new banners for each one. It makes it easier for me to see which sites are generating sales/leads.

I've never had any problems with cross running ads. But then their trackin will be messed up (like when you generate reports in the run report tab, all ur clicks and impressions will be under the same website). This is because each website gets a different publisher id (PID) which is always inbuilt in ur affiliate links..
