No and no. There is not a single country I would love, let alone die for.

No offence to anyone who thinks differently, but loving your country so much you'd die for it is retarded. Loving freedom I can understand. Fighting to give your kids a better life in your country sure, but dieing just for the love of country? Retarded.

A true blackhatter doesn't love a country, they find the country with best deals(tax rate and laws regarding their niche/money making source).

Here in the United States a lot of people get brainwashed into the whole patriotic mentality from childhood. You are taught that fighting for your country is the most noble thing you can do, even when it's America occupying places overseas where it doesn't belong and has nothing to do with us.

Well, it's pretty awful for me when I see these posts. I hate people in my country, hate the government, hate the mentality but I do love my country. And of course, I would LOVE to die for my country if needed. Of course, the blind-love is fucking retarded, but seriously there is something called honour.

    Yes I do.

    Yes I would.

In fact I did my time in the Military, and had to ask this very question of myself before I gave my word to defend this country so people with an opinion I completely and vehemently disagree with will have the right to express it without repercussions.

OP, if you are in the USA, that includes you.

My country consists of a 1700 square foot area surrounded by walls and a roof, and the people of my country are all my blood (total population including the first lady and myself is 11) I would die for them....................

I do respect those who are serving or have served in the military though :)

Well, if the only choice I had is to die for some country, then obviously I would choose my country. Otherwise, patriotism is another word for brainwashing IMHO.

I said some words about it once, but when I think back about on it I was too young to understand what they meant and to me joining the military had nothing to do with dying for, or protecting my country. At the time that was the thought process for everyone that was in, you wanted to belong to something bigger than you, or an organization. It is a basic human need to be on a team, be it your company, your family, colleagues, church congregation what have you.

So, join the marine corps, travel to far off exotic lands where you will meet exciting and unusual people. Then kill them.

Not only do I love my country, but I think that a job in the military is one of the most noble things a person can do. I am not brainwashed, and I make no apologies for loving the US. Your example is flawed because there will be times when fighting for our county is justified. That is like saying that a heart surgeon is not to be admired because he operated on a rapist who was shot by the police. Yet he saved the life of a baby the week before. Not everything a person does will be agreed with, but that doesn't mean that what he does for a living is not noble.

Loving your first country can f*ck you over in the long run, espically if your first country has extremely high taxes.

I do not love my country nor would i die for but i think it depends on the context or situation : Would i give my life to save a bunch of people? Sure. Would i put myself in danger for something i think is based on greed and political BS? Not a chance.
