My father, 66 years old, was just convicted of 8 counts of bribing a cop and sentenced to 15 years in prison. He has diabetes and health problems. The story is very long. Essentially the cop robbed him and threatened to tell the sheriff if he stopping paying him. My father begged the cop 20 times not to do this, on the states on evidence, and was convicted of bribery after a 3 month investigation. He was not commingting a crime and was charged with just bribery.

The point of this thread is two-fold.

    1. Do you know what bribery is?

Bribery is when a cop calls you and offers to sell you stolen goods. You tell him now. He asks you 10 more times in the course of two days. When he calls you and says look I really need the money, you tell him "Look I'll give you $3,000 and yo go destroy the damn property.

    That, my friends, is bribery.

    2. What would you do? How would you get the story out? What web stuff would you do to gain intrest? I have a website we made

    http://www.thugcop.com

which tells some of the story. If any members have any ideas I would love to hear them.

I have been a member of this awesome forum for 3 years, and this forum has some amazing people. Im hoping someone has a brilliant idea about what should be done.

    Thanks,
    Tehepidemick

I don't really have an idea which can help you man, but I just wanted to give you my condolences about your father. I know what it feels like and what it is like to have a dear person suffering in prison. That said feeling is actually multiplied when you know he is innocent. I wish you the best about your family, and may your father get out of jail soon.

Thank you. If he had been guilty it would be different. But the actual tapes made by the cops show a man who does not want to be doing this.

I would leave the country somehow, not worth wasting the rest of my life in a prison. I was in jail for a mere 3 days and I felt like exploding. Especially since your father is old, 66 and being in prison is honestly not a life for any senior.

There's ways to just leave. It's not like he murdered anybody, it's stupid bribery.

The cop sounds like a typical scumbag.

Have you ever heard of zoklet.net/bbs?

I'm sure there are a few people, if not a lot more on that site who could assist you with this little problem. Try and take it easy for now, it's not over till it's over.

Hey mate, sorry to hear about this. Australia is full of corrupt cops, there is a famous story about the NSW police department in the 80s. Try get as much attention to the story as possible, get allot of evidence and people will listen.

Listen to me carefully. It doesn't matter if we know or not what bribery is!

What matters now is what are you going to do next? And you don't have a lot of options.

First one is to submit to a corrupt legal system, let your father spend 15 years in prison and waste a fortune on lawyers trying to get him out. And even if you do get him out, he'll still have at least 2-3 years jail time. In other words, watch your father spend the last days of his life in misery.

Second option (which I strongly advise you to consider!!!)
Get him out of the borders as fast as possible. If you are in USA then South America has a lot to offer. I would recommend Domincan Republic. You will be able to provide him a beautiful life for as cheap as you can imagine. He'll be able to live comfortably with 400$ a month all day long. Talk to couple Mexican people and you will easily find a connection that will transport your dad out of the borders safely and secure!

You can also chose Europe. Take him anywhere on the Balkan and he can live well 400-500$ a month. Beautiful people and amazing traditions! Especially Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria.

Do not! By all means, do not let your father end in up jail innocent! He can still live free and see the beauties of the world.

So your suggesting I break him out? While I like the idea my father is an old timer. He's innocent, and his pride and dignity are to valuable, for some reason, to run from this kind of thing.

Call local media if he really is innocent and try to get press on the case.

Out of all of the above options I like the prison break idea.

This must suck big time, good luck man, whatever you do I hope for the very best.

Write a story REALLY well and pitch it to local media. Send out emails then go yourself in person.

very sorry to hear about your father, I suggest you to take some professional help and get the story written and push it on to Reddit, that is where the maximum traction would come.
