do you insert links to authority sites when you buy blog posts on authority sites?

Most of my competitors do. Sometimes they even link to 3 authoritiy sites in one blog article to mask their own link.

I understand that it is about balance: Links to authority sites in the neighbourhood make it safer. On the other hand we lose a lot of link juice.

    What is your practice here?

I don't do it on every single post because as you said.. you're losing out on link juice. However, I do make sure to include outgoing links to relevant and high authority sites in at least 20-30% of my total posts. This % varies for the type of keywords I am targeting. In my opinion, losing a small amount of link juice is much better than risking any penalties.

It is good to use 1 authority links, It will be very natural, You will not lose much link juice if you use 1 support link

I put 1-2 links to other blogs in my longer articles. But in review type of articles I only link to my inner pages.

no link to authority site, If I do 2-3 posts in pbn, than I use 1 random post to authority site, but I try to keep 1 anchor for each post.

It is good to use authority links in your post but not in all your posts, if so it may not look natural. So add them randomly, I used to add them randomly for better result.

    There are two angles:

    1. Making the link look less promotional (more like one of many resources on a topic).
    2. Becoming associated with the authorities in the knowledge graph (co-citation and co-occurrence).

Look into the reasons behind each one and work it out for your own situation.

Not all the time otherwise you miss out on the PR. Having said that you have the knowledge graph and other stuff to deal with so it's a good thing to do in moderation.

Personally, I'd put the percentage to be about 20 - 30% of PBN sites just sticking a cheeky link to an absolute authority in your niche to put your site in a decent frame.
