Hey guys, I have been reading what people do as far as hosting....

It seems like some of you buy a domain, host it on hostgator (or other hosting service) and then use a VPS to run your SEO software (AMR, SB, XR, etc.)

Then I have seen others who buy a domain and host it on there VPS, and also run software on the VPS.

Which of these is the better option?

    Thanks for the info

I run SB and AMR at home on one of my spare computers. I heard xrumer needs a vps but I don't own it so I don't know.

I currently have my websites split between two vps's. I like being in control of everything on my [virtual] server. As for shared hosting, I hated godaddy, namecheap hosting sucked, and hostgator was good but I never liked their billing system or ticket system.

    Cheers!

I would get a reseller hosting plan for your sites and then VPS or dedi for your automation tools......don't ever put your website on the same server as your tools, otherwise the whole ship may go down together and all that effort you put into your marketing will be for nothing unless you have a backup or fail over plan....

Also you dont ever want to jeopardize the performance of your website because you are running resource intensive applications like xrumer for example....
