I noticed in the HTML provided by Amazon, it has the anchor tag AND a 1x1 image which I'm assuming is just for tracking purposes.

Does anyone know if there would be any issues with me simply copying the URL from the HTML snippet and making my own links (or even redirects) out of it? Or will that cause issues since this possible tracking image isn't there?

AFAIK the image/pixel just tracks views.

You can ditch that pesky pixel and just use the HTML for sure.

AFAIK? What does that mean? :p Ok so it just tracks views. So it won't hurt if I don't even use the HTML at all? And just grab the URL out of there?

Yes, I have always just grabbed the URL and made my own links.

AFAIK means "As Far As I Know."

You can even take it one step further. Let's say your entire code looked like this:

    Code:
    hxxp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002NT0ZGK/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002NT0ZGK&linkCode=as2&tag=YOUR_ID_HERE-20
You could shorten it down to:

    Code:
    hxxp://amzn.com/dp/B002NT0ZGK/?tag=YOUR_ID_HERE-20
    ...and it would still work.
