    Hey there,

I'm looking at purchasing a few Tumblr accounts (say 4-5) for the purpose of reblogging/autoblogging. Do I have to use a different IP for each of those account if I'm essentially pretending to be different 'people'? I already have two Tumblr accounts I created from my current home IP.

In short, how many is too many before Tumblr thinks you're spammy?

    Thanks in advance,

    Snack

Depending on how your blog will be spamy. If each post It has affiliate link tumblr close all the same blogs on this IP, but if 90% of the content will be neutral you can lose only one blog.
For myself, I am using this strategy: to 5 000-7 000 subscribers use one ip for 3 blog as soon as more than 5k subscribers, one IP for each blog.

Thanks. I think for what I want to do in the short term, I should be safe. When I need more than 10 accounts, I'll start looking for proxies.

Yes account registration ip is a major factor.

Oh, and when tumblr suspects you of automation then the whole proxy might get banned (it's happened several times), which means all your effort will be gone.

You should get different proxies for each account because if you get caught doing something fishy on one of the accounts out of 4 let's say, bound to one proxy, you might face suspension for all 5 accounts since they were logged into from the same IP.

You can try cleaning browser cookies between logins (in case you manage the blogs manually).
I think (from my experience) that tumblr is more interested in cookies than IP.
Ideally you should have a different IP as well.
Just go ahead and try your mix and see what works for you.

And what about account creation? How do you create an account by using a proxy?
