I have a couple sites going now and I signed up for google adsense. i still do not fully understand how adsense work. from what i understand, google gives you a code that you plug into your website. it generates advertisements relating to what your site is all about. every time someone clicks on the google add, the website owner gets paid a very small amount.

so does everyone have google adsense on their site?
what are the pros and cons of google adsense?
How much revenue does your adsense generate for you? (if you are willing to share this info)

    thanks in advance
    Trevor

If you make a blog lets say to do with Auto Insurance, Google Adsense will pay you more. Usually between 1-3 dollars a click. Now most people just click bang and exchange clicks. But you cant just get clicks you need traffic. To many clicks with little traffic throws up the ban flag with Adsense.

Check out chikita ads, do a google search. They are an alternative to adsense but work in the same way and they approve your account very fast so no wait.

What you get paid varys, use google keyword tool and whatever the CPC is you get around half of that per click. You also get paid for impressions. I make around $7 a month per site currently have 5 sites but planning on scaling up real soon.

Its harder than it sounds and you need to pick the right keywords to generate the proper ads in your adsense box for your readers so they are tempted to click. I recommend reading a few ebooks on the subject.

    Pros:
    1. You can rank for high search volume, low comp keywords and make some nice money. Building a small niche site based around that keyword and get ranked is typically easy.

    Cons:
    1. Adsense uglifies your site.
    2. Engage in any sort of blackhat activity and not cover your tracks; expect to be banned.
    3. Imagine this: You have spent time making great, unique content, then your visitor sees an adsense ad that they like and are gone from your site forever with the click of a mouse button!
    4. Did I mention Adsense uglifies your site?

Adsense is considered as one of the best way to earn online. But you will find so many people getting banned in Adsense. They are very strict. If you are going to use Adsense, then my first advice is to read their Guidelines on what they allow and what not. If you want to have a long term Adsense income, then play fine according to their Guidelines. Otherwise Google will slap you hard.

Adsense is not a way of getting a quick income. If you are willing to spent time and wait patiently then it will work. Otherwise you should try something else. Revenue will heavily depends on the effort you put in.
