    Hey guys,

I was wondering if someone here has this "im schedule" or if you just do "whatever" you can do.

For me, i have certain "daily goals" which i accomlish throughout the day and after i complete each daily goal i take a rest to tackle my next daily goal :)

So what about you guys, do you have certain goals? Or you do as you can? Or do you have an "IM time" to work on? Like from 2pm to 6pm and you do whatever you can?

It must be quite interesting how people schedule their time :)

    Lets the show begin! :)

Well I personally don't have a schedule. I work like 1 - 2 hours max per day. I still manage to make some income online.

This may apply to IM, but some of us are "on call" similar to doctors and lawyers. However I do have "office hours" that I'm reachable for offline projects.
I'd say if you're not treating it like a job, nobody else will think you have one.

It varies for me. Sometimes I have a list of things to do, sometimes I don't. I try to keep a list of something I can do whenever but it's not always possible. I also work best if I manage to get up really early. For some reason I can focus strictly on getting stuff done in the morning as opposed to the night. I'm working on putting in at LEAST a solid 2 hours a day of work that actually benefits me in some way though. By work I mean not checking twitter or whatever, something measurable.

I'm also just beginning some major research into wine too, so I may also spend my time studying regions and grape varieties.

    Anyway I'm rambling....

    Cheers,

I would agree with the "on call" theory. Normally my campaigns run on auto-pilot but sometimes I "get the call" when I'm out and check my stats on my phone and see something strange. Sometimes it happens at dinner or doing something around town and I need to go home to fix things. Other than that, my campaigns are good at printing money without me needing to babysit them. Now if I have a project that requires me to manually grind-it-out then I'm usually stuck at home for as long as the project lasts for. That varies from days to months of just non-stop grinding while a project's loophole is open.

I keep a to-do list but I don't follow any sort of schedule... Sometimes I wake up at 7 AM, sometimes 7 PM.

Some people, there is just no work in them at all. When I were a lad we used to spend 48 hours at a time on our sites.

Not really, but I tend to stay up and available during the European office hours as that's my main market.

I made a terrible mistake when I first started a business online by overworking some days
and feeling bad others and my productivity would suffer. Now I keep a decent schedule to make
sure I am up and running. Also helps clients because they know when to find you!

I have a set schedule during which time I provide Client Support.

Also I work on my own projects usually first thing in the morning as I always feel fresher first thing - in the afternoon I like to cruise to end of the day.

If I added up my hours of "work" during the day it would probably only be 2, and because of that, anyone looking at my life from the outside would be quite confused, because I spend alot of my time chatting to people (about totally random things), eating good food, reading (and writing), listening to music, and probably not much of it doing what they would call 'work'.

I take this view; one single good idea had while 'lazing around listening to music' can be worth $500k/yr to me, so, it's important for me to create an environment (life) for myself that's as conducive as possible to that flow of ideas and brainwaves as possible.

Creativity and insight cannot be forced according to your schedule - they happen when they're ready. It's like putting a baby to sleep - you can't force it to go to sleep, rather, you create a comfortable, safe, relaxed environment, and then sleep just 'happens'.

In this day and age, the financial results we have at the end of each month and year are solely dependent on our imagination. We have at our disposal every tool we can conceivably need, and every person we need to leverage off, and every piece of information or skill required to make sense of it all. Never in the history of the human race have we lived in a time as liberal as ours - there is not a single information barrier that can't be broken with a quick Google search. Indeed I could, conceivably, build an aeroplane within 12 months using just the information freely available via Google, even though I have no experience in that field. Can you imagine how far developed the world would be today if the same was true even 50 years ago? Not only are we living in historic times today, but as a species we are on the verge of massive leaps that will fundamentally redefine the way we experience the world around us, and the way we live our lives.

Our key task then, as internet marketers and indeed as humans, is to dream, envisage, hypothesize, and leverage those ideas and thoughts into reality, using the readily available tools that surround us in today's world. The father of failure - or worse still, mediocrity, is inaction.

PS: this post is mostly off the direct topic, but I granted myself license because this is The Lounge, after all...

That's correct, though not entirely correct.

    Let me explain myself. :)

You see, we can't force anything to happen, but we can INFLUENCE things for us to happen!

And creativity, insight, imagination and intuition CAN be INFLUENCED using the right techniques! Though this might seem a little bit strange, if you have read about techniques such as the Silva Method and other intuition courses, you will understand what I am trying to say here. Intuition, creativity, imagination and insight are many of these "hidden" skills we all have but have been hidden from our awareness so that we "see" them as unchangeable or stuff we can't control!

To keep this short and to the point, (because I could talk so much about this :) ), intuition, creativity, imagination and insight can be influenced, trained and put in useful work if you know how to do it.

Actually, the Silva Method, have helped me in many ways, from ways of thinking to creative ideas and projects I have in mind and I am willing to put the work on, but I need money first to make them happen and that's exactly what I am doing right now :)

    Peace!
