I have just found out by total chance that 2 of my domains on the same host have been wiped clean. The host says they have no backups and i must start again.

Is this my own fault for not backing them up? Do you guys always backup your PBNs?

Yes! I create a backup and save it locally after every new post.

Yes and I dont find out whats wrong with my pbns etc by "total chance". Most people that are in it for the long haul back up their work ( like a word document )

It's just default option on my hosting... Not sure why your hosting does not provide back up service.

I dont backup anything. Just too much hassle for that.
I just rebuild them if something weird happens.

I back them up when I set up the site. The blog posts I can usually find in the email trail/downloads folder on my computer, and having the set up backed up would take me 10minutes per domain to set up all over again.

I tried backing everything up on a monthly basis, but I wasn't consistent with it, and it took up time to do. This way works for me, and it worked when I had 5 domains on a host hacked recently.

I agree you should go with a host that offers free back up service. I use Nexcess.net for pretty much all my hosting needs. They back up all sites every night and keep 30 days worth of back ups. I've had to use the back up service before and it worked like a charm. Their customer support is also above average.

Backup plugin that sends daily backups to the cloud is in my standard WP setting. No hassle at all, just two minutes work when installing every new site.
