Do you feel that altcoins are more lucrative return wise in comparison to bitcoin currently?

I think it depends if you want short term wins or long term and which altcoins. I think longterm wise bitcoin is still the better option, but there will also be a down again so short term i wouldnt advise

How long duration is long term according to you?
 
Yes they are lucrative but sometimes they are risky too.
 
when its a bull market you can get real lucky with some alt coins, but for long term stuff btc will probably do better then 98% of alt coins
