as alot of marketers use 2.0 to increase their rankings link wheel etc does google sandbox new domains like abcd.wordpress.com for example to cut down self promotion and spam?

Has anyone tried this - I was thinking of throwing a few thousand links at a twitter profile to see if I could get it on the first page using brute force. Is this something that could get sandboxed?

    I don't think so
because web 2.0 sites are pretty old sites so most likely not to get sandboxed
however stay under radar to avoid flags

Site won't get sandboxed but G can still decide not to index your specific page. Or index it initially and then remove it.

If you're willing to invest the time... create a 2nd profile for this niche... then brute force one and gradually build the backlinks to the other. If brute force works you're golden. If it doesn't you're still ok because of the 2nd profile.
