Clickbank affiliates are free to promote any products on the clickbank site without approval. They probably were trying to get you to opt-in their list.

It depends on the product. It's a case-by-case basis.

Some people don't want their product promoted in a bad light, so they vet every applicant to their affiliate program.

Thats true most of these owners like AMR etc., need you to buy the products first since they want you to know basics of their products.

Most mainstream vendors like to see your website or method before approving. Once you are established and have had sales then they normally reduce or remove that requirement, depends on the vendor though some are better than others and depends on the niche.

99% of Clickbank is auto approved. I've never really heard of anyone needing approval.

If you can prove properly to vendors then it will increase 300% possibilities that you can promote affiliate products without any hard requirements.

I never heard of that. Some like to put you on a mailing list to get your affiliate stuff. But this is so they can keeep in touch with the affiliates if there are any changes or need to contact them.
