Hi, I'm still new here, so sorry if this has been answered. I've been reading for a week or 2 now and haven't seen this answered yet. And yes I searched. So let's say I have a site "www.superseoforumsthatgetyouhighpr.com" and it's a phpbb site that doesnt have nofollow turned on. I click on a subforum "post here for ultra cool PRs" and start a new thread. In the thread I link my site. In my signature, I link my site. When I check the PR of my thread, or any thread in that sub forum, it's PR "No Pagerank information available" Does that still add to my backklinks and help my PR? Thanks
Yes, both domain page rank and inner page rank count. The page where your link is on has the biggest impact. It's not all about pagerank though...it's also about trust, relevance, number of links on a page and more factors.
Habitually if the inner page you are posting on have a High PR, the main domain should have a High PR too.
Thanks for the responses. My thread I posted is no page rank at all. example: site - PR 6 --/forum - PR 5 --/forum/subforum - PR 5 --/forum/subforum/mythread.html - No PageRank So mythread.html will give my site some pagerank even though it doesnt have any PR itself?
Look up the source code of the page. If there is "n0follow" on your link it won't help at all. Look at it this way...once your page is spidered it will have a nice link from /forum/subforum/. The link juice passed to your page will depend on how many threads /forum/subforum/ links to. Even if the page rank of your thread reads 0, in reality it could be any number from 0.001 to 0.999 Hope you get the idea.
OK Cool. Yeah, I already understood the no follow part. I posted that in the OP. I just wasnt sure if the juice trickles down to each thread.
No. Page PR is the juice. I am not saying that this link is not better that a link on a PR0 domain, but that gain is not comparable to a link on a page with PR.
That double negative threw me off. Sorry! hahaha. OK, so I asked if the "no page rank" thread will give some page rank. Then you answered with "No." Then it sounds like you are saying yes. So does it or doesnt it give some page rank.
A thread with 0 pr on a high pr site, won't help much imo. Lets just say, that its better to get a link on a pr1 page on a pr4 domain, rather than a pr0 page on a pr6 domain. However, if two threads have 0 pr, then the thread on the forum with a higher domain pr is obviously better.. Also, remember that a pr0 thread on a high pr site, although it does not have pr currently, it should get some pr at the next update.. especially if the forum is well optimized. So to your question, do they count, yes, but as a pr0 not a pr of the domain..
OK cool. So just to make sure, for example....It's wayyyyyy better to post a comment on a PR2 WordPress blog, than it is on a forum with PR8 and your thread is PR0?
Inner pages of a high PR domain are still worth more juice than a PR 0 site. So take advantage of any you can find.
Do you mean a pr2 post on a wordpress blog? Then imo, yes. But do remember, that the pr0 thread on the pr8 forum is very likely to become a pr3-4 thread on the next update.. To get an idea if the pr juice is passing onto the threads, have a look at some of the sticky threads, and see what pr they are. Also, if the sticky threads aren't locked post on them PS: by PR0, I mean those that have no PR information as well..
