Do these DISQUS comments get indexed? Or is it a total waste of my time?
I'm interested to know this also. I sometimes add comments.
I don't "disqus" but I do "commentluv" and those DO get indexed, d0f0ll0w.
I would think that they get indexed but I am not 100% sure.
I think if you done relevant comment to the blog then webmaster will approve it and comment will be indexed.
No disqus did not index their content.
Thanks for the info guys. Yeah I didn't see them in the source code so screw them. I'll try going after commentluv. Cheers!
Yes, the good news is that Disqus comments do get indexed.
With that said, it all depends on the keywords that you use.
Getting indexed is one thing for keyword mentions, having links published is another.
It depends on the Disqus-powered blogs you are commenting on.
You wouldn't want to be in a situation where you're just manually blasting this out and hoping something sticks.
There is talk here of using tools to do this on a large-scale basis, but you might trigger flags doing it that way.
Maybe the better way is some sort of middle of the road approach.
I agree, and I think same as Facebook and Google Plus comments. But if you are going to compare them with commentluv, they are not made to add any weight on SEO.
