if searched by a phrase, it displays pages
if searched by a hashtag, it shows posts.

i did a test post, added some 60 shares. i did show up in a search even now, but i have got almost nothing out of it in 2 months.

so i guess people dont search by hashtags on fb?

No, people dont use hashtags on Facebook, I mean, they do use them but they never search for content using hashtags.
And even when they do, Facebook privacy settings doesn't allow you to find valuable things, only the posts of people that haven't setup their privacy yet.

if it is because of the facebook privacy settings, then people dont search on facebook regardless of using hashtags or not? in other words, fb is not a search engine?

    You're absolutely right.

For people, it's just a share-with-friends engine. For advertisers, it's another way to advertise products. Nobody is actually using facebook as a search engine IMHO
