Do pages have to be indexed to give you linkjuice?

  1. Yes - if a page links to you but is not indexed, you get no linkjuice

You get a juice in both cases, but the juice from the indexed pages is better than the non-indexed ones

As above mentioned, if you are getting link from a site then link juice will be passed. But indexed links gets you more advantage.

What about a link from a page that is not indexed because the site has been deindexed?

I don't think that provides any linkjuice.

If the page is indexed you get the good type of linkjuice - in professional language its called backlink.

If the page is not indexed you get the bad type of linkjuice - in professional language its called cumshot.

The 1st and 2nd choices is the same. I dont get it.

You need to index the page to pass some of the link juice. If the link is not indexed, then it is no worth.

If Google chooses not to index a website or a particular page on that website and you have your backlink on it, it shows that Google does not value that page at all and your link is almost worthless.

Yes, that's why there's a comment in the first post addressing this.
