I just moved 120+ sites to two hostgator "SEO Hosting" 10 ip's per servers. This took me about 3 solid days to move. Now the admins at Host Gator are shutting the servers down because they are not running the wp super cache plugin. They are doing this without warning and have already taken down over 40 of my sites. On one of the server there are only 2 sites per ip and these are new sites with almost no traffic. They are going in and blocking them from the public and forcing me to add the plugins before they will turn them back on. Why call this "SEO Hosting" if they don't allow more than 1 site per ip? These new sites are not taxing the server resources but they are forcing me to add their suggested plugins.

I made such a huge mistake by taking my sites off of the godaddy servers they were on and moving them to Host Gator. Big Mistake. I am dreading moving them again but I will not leave them for these Nazi's to have control over.

Don't make the same mistake I made.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be cautious if I ever had a chance to use their SEO Hosting. Also, I'd suggest you to use netdna/cloudfront CDN to offload resources like images/css/videos/js so you'll be using hostgator's resources mostly for processing DB requests.

Just to add up, you can even use free version of cloudflare.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am currently using cloudflare and netdna for cdn. Their admins have serious god complexes and are trigger happy with blacklisting your accounts. No warning or request to comply they just deny public access and then make you wait in their support Que to get your sites reevaluated. Gestapo tactics at their finest. I'm dreading the huge move again but I will be glad to be far away from Host Gator.

Additional points that are not made public on their sales pages.

    - You can not upgrade the amount of RAM in the machines you are renting. So they will allow you to purchase as many as 125 class C ip's but you can not add any more RAM. How is that possible?
    - You can not install Piwik analytics b/c it takes up too much of their server's resources.
