I still see people selling to make micro niche sites in the market and I wonder do they still make passive income with little effort in creating backlinks?

I really doubt it will be profitable. If it is profitable these seller will not be selling in the market. All these so call passive income will be getting them rich by now. Imagine holding thousands of MNS paying $100 per month. Damn, $100k+ a month without hardwork? C'mon time to wake up to senses. Too good to be true. The time and effort taken to rank MNS and authority site is the same nowadays after all those animal updates from Google. Cost is way too high to build these backlinks and too risky as Google is rolling updates far too often nowadays.

You can buy these sites and do off page and try to rank them, but you need to ensure your own on-page is spot on.

What Google has said for years now is they're wanting sites that add value to search engines, not really a 3 page thin site with poor quality content, covered in ad boxes and links.

Agree with you. This is why I say it takes the same amount of resources to rank an authority site and MNS. I might be better off starting a simple blog talking about one piece and spoiler discussion, etc, something that is of hobby nature. Cost nothing and there are active groups of people searching for it that forces google to rank my blog.

No, they are not profitable at all.

Nobody would sell a micro niche website package for as little as $30-$50 if they had the potential to make considerably more than that, over a period of one year.

Most of these micro niche websites only consists of 2 or 3 pages, usually of spun contents which may or may not read like gobbledygook.

Even if you get a quality micro niche site Google will have no real interest in ranking such a small website, especially if the subject matter has already been covered by numerous other websites.

I think you're right, but not all of them are total crap. In last few days I requested samples from few sellers here, and while most of them were crap, I found couple of guys who provide good sites as samples ( at least ).

I think most of the sellers here are still trying to sell micro niche sites because such sites are easier to sell than a $1k or $800 site to a newbie. And such small sites are super easy to create with VAs so overall they have lesser head aches. I don't think beginners will get to make any money with these sites, but at least they can start somewhere instead of lurking around.

Microniche sites still work like a charm and you can still rank relatively easy. Things have changed though, so you'll need to adjust. Let me give you an example: Let's say you are into the "electric shavers" niche. Instead of writing 5 articles with 500 words each, describing an individual product, you need to write a 5000 words article describing 5-10 products. Something like "Best Electric Shavers of 2017". This is just an example, but you get the idea.

    Cheers!

Google keeps turning up the authority dial, so eventually this little sites will be outranked by a mention of the keyword on an obscure page on Amazon or other authority. You're much better off building a proper website, not a piece of shit that will rarely make a sale here and there.

i dont no how people are still managing to sell these since they dont work at all, i purchased 5 sites a year ago a lot of seo work into it and havent made a penny from them, maybe its because the sells page is catchy and they clearly not being honest about how much work needs to be put in to make some money out of it. we sometimes have to learn the hard way

2 – Write Longer and More Detailed Content:

At its core, blogging and SEO are all about content creation. If you want to rank higher in the search results, you are going to need to provide the best content and value possible. After all, Google always wanted to rank the best content at the top of their search results, otherwise, no one would use their search engine.

I recently had the opportunity to interview Mike Salvaggio about the what it takes to rank in Google today. Being the CEO and founder of SEOBrand, his digital marketing agency works with numerous brands and websites and knows what it takes to rank in Google today.

Here are a few takeaways from our interview.

Longer content is going to outperform shorter content. This is just the way Google now works these days. 500-word articles used to be the standard, but now it's more like 1,000-2,000.

If you take a look at the top ranking sites across Google, you will commonly find they are extremely in-depth in words, content, and images.

    * In addition to longer and more detailed content, it's also important to have the right mix of images, video, and resource (outbound links) within your content. Again, this all goes back to the concept of providing as much value as possible.

    * Backlinks are quickly becoming the most important SEO asset to nearly every website and brand online. While this is true, it’s important to still make sure the links that are coming back to your site actually serve a purpose.

When you have high-quality content and resources that are worth referencing, it will be that much easier to gain new and unexpected backlinks from different sources.

    * Lastly, don't forget to use the proper site formatting (H1, H2) and image tags within your content. Yes, content is important but also make sure the content is laid out properly for both Google and your audience is also key to ranking in 2017.

In addition to the key takeaways mentioned above, SearchEngineLand.com also came out with their own reference guide full of articles, case studies and reports to further prove longer content simply ranks better.

Can you buy a micro niche site and BUILD it onto something good? Yes... but you'll need to put work/money into it. I doubt anything sold for $50 could earn you much if you don't put a lot into it. Think of these BST's as a "starter package" much like the guys who sell custom PBN sites are. You still need to optimize it, keep posting new pages, do off-site and treat it like a money site. And even then it may or may not explode. It is not exactly turn key, nothing in SEO is these days.
