Do i need a vpn to download from streamcloud and the like?

    So as the title says, i'm not downloading from a torrent. But say i want to download some movies from streamcloud / opencloud / streamlord, and the like ( not stream, but download instead ) Do i need a vpn ? If so why, if not, why ?

    When you're downloading something that is not paid, that is copyrighted, etc. it's always smart to use a VPN, especially if you're living in the western Europe, or in the United States and Australia. Of course, if you're downloading some regular files, or non-copyrighted material, you don't need to use VPN. For torrents, it's always advisable that you're using a seedbox (or a VPN).

    Even if its from sites like streamlord and streamcloud?

    For example, streamcloud is not a legal site, and no one has been prosecuted (still) for streaming movies online, however, for downloading there are a lot of cases.
