Ok I launched Adsense Assassin few days back, since Iam no IM guru with huge email lists, it took a few days to catch some pace, now I can see a sale or two every day, thanks to my affiliates :) ... I also got many PM on bhw regarding discounts...

So I decided to go ahead and create a seperate page on my sales site just for bhw members where the price would be less than regular... (dont start searching for it as the new page isnt live yet :p)

I would like to know that do I need to open a sales thread here to announce about it or can I just post it like a regular thread?

Here is the Affiliate Invitation Thread http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...assin-need-sales-page-reviews-affiliates.html

I think if you are going to be selling directly to BHW members then you would need a sales thread so it is all above board

If you are just informing people that site x has some product and they are running some offer for BH then I don't think you will need a sales thread... Sales thread offers lots of benefits like listing in BST section where lots of people visit, sales enquiry thread, support thread... blah blah

You will not get these benefits if you are not creating sales thread for your product.
Anyway I am not very good in defining rules so better to contact some mod for more information...

I'm usually pretty good at explaining rulesm but on this one I'm not 100% sure. The explaination bizroot gave sounds reasonable, but I'd suggest contacting a mod to be sure.

I will say this though, you'll probably make more sales if you do start a sales thread. Like bizroot says that's where the people go that are most inclined to make purchases. Also, even though you're offering a discount you'll still be making money from the sales on this forum. If your product is any good then the price of a sales thread will quickly be offset by the additional sales you'll be making.

Just my 2 cents worth.
    Good luck to you.

Thanks greywolf, as per ur logic on the success of a sales thread on BHW, I totally agree.. infact I find a sales thread here much more rewarding than a WSO thread in that crappy forum... I even got the best response for my affiliate invitation offer at BHW, and whoever bought the product was very happy, thats how I started to receive so many PMs... I guess il be going with the sales thread plan :)

Another question, sorry if m annoying, can I just place a simple sales pitch and place a link to the actual discount page ? or do I need to have a big pitch here in bhw too??

Well to be fair WF has it's place, but it is very heavily weighted to promoting the WarRoom and the WSOs. In large part its function it to sell things to it's members. BHW has its own Marketplace forums, but they aren't the focus of the forum. It's more of an additional benefit rather than a purpose. The main purpose it for everyone to help each other out learning how to market online. The bulk of what BHW members share freely, the WF members hold back so they can sell it to each other.

Yeah, it's not a problem to just have a short sales pitch and link to you're sales page. You'll just want to be sure you're sales pitch is good enough to get people to click the link.

Another thing to remember is that a lot of sales threads don't get approved. You should go read the sticky threads in the services for sale forum. Those are the main rules for getting a sales thread approved in any of the Marketplace forums. It's a good idea to read the sticky threads in the other buy/sell forums as well.

You'll also be asked for a review copy by the mods before they approve it, and you'll probably want to give a few more free review copies to get some reviews started in your thread. All that will come after it's approved of course.

What? Can anyone confirm that? I did open a service thread before without being a donor. Is that something new?

There's a lot of people with sales threads that aren't donors. This is the post that matters in that thread:
The remark later in the thread about requiring donor status is simply a suggestion. As far as I know a donor status requirement hasn't been implemented yet. I think you just need to meet the requirements in HaRRo's post, follow the instructions "How to sell your services", get approved by a bst mod, pay the fee and get reviewed.

This was implemented yesterday in fact. Gotta be a donor to post a BST thread now, but not a service thread.

    Ah....
I see (said the blind man to his deaf friend.)
    I missed that. :cool2:

Well neo, I guess you just gotta decide if you think you'll make enough sales to make the investment in becoming a donor worth it. If you think you'll make enough sales then it's kind of a no brainer. If you don't think so then there's your answer as well.

Good luck with your project. :hippie:
