I'd like to keep my software on VPS running 24/7 without having to keep my laptop open while I'm not at home.

    Solutions?

You don't have to keep your laptop on all the time. Just start the task (e.g SENuke/GSA) on your VPS and it will keep running until you stop it or shut your VPS down.

I thought so...but If exit out of my Remote connection & shut my laptop off for a few hours then try to log back on VPS remotely, the remote desktop does a full boot....perhaps windows update turns it off automatically??

You might be running out of resources and crashing the VPS. Do you get any shutdown notification?

I think there are a couple instances where you need to have RDP open. For instance if you are using WinAutomation and having it do mouse clicks I believe you need RDP open or else the mouseclicks won't be made (everything else will work).

In that case I've made it work by having a Windows VPS connect into another Windows VPS, which surprisingly works.

It should be no surprise that VPS's can connect to each other!

You don't need your laptop turned on for VPS.

His point isnt that vps's can connect to each other, it's that winautomation still works when doing so.

Could it be something with windows updates?...I know it requires a start once the upload is installed...When I log back into VPS I'll often see that lil message in the right corner that windows completed an update.

I wasn't surprised that VPS's can connect to each other - I was surprised that if I connected one VPS to the other, and then closed both of those connections, it would keep the connection and act like there was an actual monitor (but it wouldn't do this if there was no connection).
