Do I Go For Exact or Phrase KW formats?

When I watch video tutorial on KW research, 80% of the times the author goes with Exact and the rest in Phrase formats, either in Keytool External, MSamurai, KE, etc.

What is your opinion and what would be your lower range for a KW search, 1000 maybe?

I think that question depends hugely on what keyword you are trying to rank for. "Tattoo Removal" for example, would be much easier to rank for the exact phrase than, say, "weight loss".
 
go after you main keyword. But also include in the text variation or other searched keywords. google with cattegorize you and start showing the love if you have good information.
