Help me Guys and Gals

Ok I have decided to venture in to repurposing YouTube Vids I've got Vegas, Adobe and Moviemaker and have my ripped Youtube Video.

But it seems what ever way I try I can't get it in a format so I can edit (add, remove, watermark etc) in any of these softwares .

Im sure this can't be that hard as I can create a video from scratch
using my own pics, audio tarck and even clips from Istockvideo.

Oh and even stuff from the digital camera.

I probably look the dumbest in this forum but I have never done this having always created my vids from scratch and used them as informercials not youtube vids.

I found a way to decompile the whole vid but got nearly 2000 pictures and no sound so that can't be how you guys do hundreds a day.

I really need your help as having read hundreds of books this weekend and watched courses on editing they all fail to mention what damm format you need it in in the first place after borrowing it from Youtube.

I tried Mov and Avi for Vegas which imports the file but how do you edit it after that? . I know how to use Vegas best having just got Adobe from a friend.

I use Video WaterMark Factory. The process I go by probably is not the fastest or the easiest but it works for me.

Take my vid put it in VWF
Add My watermark (or wait and do it in camtasia)
save output as AVI or WMV
Import into camtasia
produce vid as flv

its actually not decompiling, you want to "convert" the flash files to either mpg or avi. there are few programs in the download section for doing that. i personally use xilsoft video convert ultimate. its got support for quad or dual processers, so its super quick converting and it can do large batchs of files at the same time.

vegas is a good choice for beginners, the best way to learn is to watch video tutorials, not books

Have you got any tutorials I can see so I get how you are doing this.

If I am right you just convert to AVI and then edit that?
