I had an ebay user report me for "using their picture" truth is it was a stock photo picture he didn't own and I had just as much right to as him, I also edited it heavily so was almost unrecognizable. Anyhow, ebay wound up pulling a bunch of my listings.

Ever since this happenned I went from dominating top search results and had good placement on first page as well as second and third pages and overnight after this violation I went to my listings being hundreds of products deep in searches for basically all keywords. I am a power seller and a top rated seller with 100% feedback and near DSR scores.

I can't find anything online stating that policy violations hurt you in search rankings but I can't figure out what else it could be. What's more confusing is my top competitor violates ebay TOS over and over and ignores their rules and stays at the top. He always has duplicate listings and when they get taken down he puts them back up, he puts his links to his site in his pictures, buys other users accounts, etc. He does all this and stays at top of earch, I had one violation and have fallen.

Can anyone confirm this actually gets done and if so how long the penalty lasts for? Also any other tips on how to climb back up in searches?

I think it does because they want the best from the sellers.

ebay is trying to be as professional as Amazon. they are cracking down on any little thing. always make sure you stay on their good side and keep reading seller news for all the new rules and regulations.

Same thing happened to me last week, From Being Number ONE, I am not on page 5...can't even find some of my listings. While other sellers who are not even "top rated" with like 25 feedback's have more exposure. Have no idea why this is happening..I went from selling 50 items a day to about 8...can't figure this out..Was you able to find a solutions?

Ebay may be trying but they are doing things the wrong way in my opinion. They are selectively targeting new merchants and vero members are only pulling down "some" not all ads that are in violation. Not sure what to say about that but that it's wrong......
