Dude, you need some serious coin before you can sell consoles for good profit.

That is true that you need some serious money, but i will start of slowly!

Sell one nd use that to pay for the next one!

But before all that i need one for personal use.

Well I can guarantee that when you figure in the egay + paypussy fees and shipping cost, you will not make any money and will most likely lose some if you are only buying one at a time. If you don't have the money to make a bulk order from a distributing company, then big ticket items are not the way to go. I spent about a year and a half chasing after high ticket consumer electrionics, and I realized it's a big boys game. I would suggest lower ticket items, or if you really know what you're doing, take out a small business loan. I opted to forgo both of those options and go the internet marketing rout to get some cash built up. I'm not an expert, just my 2 cents. Goodluck w/whatever you decide to do. :)

I would have to agree. There is absolutely no money in video game consoles, unless the demand is crazy, like it has been on the Wii the past two Christmas seasons, but most distributors will sell the console at just a few bucks (like $5 maybe) under what the big chain stores are selling them for. All of the margin is in the games. ( at least for some people)

MMM, i guess its understandable, the thing is where i live i know thid dude who can modify XBOX 360's to run fake games, that way they XBOXes are worth a lot more.

I could even start like a site in conjunction for downloading fake games, host it offshore nd shit!

    Wut do u guys think?

Btw: i have got offers as low as $200 for the PS3!

    Thnx

I would be very careful if I were you. Whoever is offering you that price is scamming you...period. It costs Sony more than that to make the console, as a matter of fact when it first came out they sold every unit at a loss; not sure if this is still true. Ask this guy if he accepts paypal or credit card, I guarantee he says no. He is going to want you to do something stupid like western union, wire transfer or money order.

    Hey young genius,

The dude is trusted, nd he said he is fine with CC or Paypal.

But the problem is that there is a minimum of 10 Orders.

I dont got 2000 dollars at the moment.

If you are interested let me know nd i will hook u up tht guy.

As far as it costs Sony more, i used to be a writer for a gaming blog and i discovered that Sony and Microsoft sell the consoles at a loss! They make up the money through games.

If you buy in bulk you can get that price, but the problem is bulk requires capital!

Thnx for the replies guys! Keep them coming!

Well, all I can advise you is to proceed with caution. In the wholesale/reselling business you live and die by this simple rule, "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is." There are a lot of scammers that will bait you with CC and Paypal, but at the last second they will say there is something wrong with their merchant account and ask you to use an alternative. They know people have gotten wise and 4/5 will not send an unsecured payment overseas(I'm assuming this guy is overseas).

But, when you get someone charged up to the point where all they see is dollar signs, they are more likely to make a mistake. I will admit that just because I gave up on it for the time being doesn't mean that you haven't found a gold mine, however I would advise you to at the very least use a trusted escrow service. Sure it will cost you extra, but with a profit margin like that, you have nothing to lose. Also if it is being shipped from overseas, inquire with your local post office on what the import tax would be. I doubt you will have much long term success sneaking large quantities of gaming consoles past U.S. customs.

Final thought, a lot of times if, after doing my due diligence, I was still unsure about a supplier, I would simply do nothing... In 3-6 months time, if they were still around I would feel much better about doing business with them. This has saved me thousands of dollars. I know it's hard for a lot of people, but patience will serve you much better than greed and impulsiveness.

    Goodluck

    Young Genius,

Thank You sooo much for that great post, i totally agree with you, i would never use any other method than cc or paypal.

This one dude that i mentioned above that will supply 10 PS3's for $200 each seems to be legit and accepts CC and paypal.

A few others i got around to were classical Scams, what you mentioned above were their exact words, at the moment we have a problem with our paypal account nd therefore we can only accept western Union.

So guys watch out, i dont have the money for buying 10 consoles at a time so i guess i will avoid the console market. The other thing is i am not in the US, i import all the products to a tax free country, Saudi Arabia where my contacts sell this stuff, so i wont have any issues related to customs etc.

    Thnx guys
