    Hey guys;
    Just looking to get started on cloaking some sites and I've read quite a bit about it here. I believe I understand how it works, and the huge benefits. My question, as the title states...Do they really get on to you for this? I mean.., as long as they're making their cash.., do they give a sh*t? :confused:

    The only thing I could really come up with from reading the forum is that big G will smack ya if they discover it.

    Would love some feedback from some experts, so I know how 'stealth' I need to be or what to expect from AMs.

    Thanks in advance!! :D

    they give a shit.

    if nothing converts you're banned because the advertiser cuts the lines and the cpa network will lose the money.

    I asked my AM about it and he wasn't fine with it.
    However, 2 days later, i showed him my site (cloaked aff link) and he said if i made it and i simply said no, it's an iframe. He said it was okay since the advertiser was fine with it.

    Thanks for the response Mondlicht;

    Soooo.....ok; what if you're very targeted? As long as you have conversions, the network is happy, the AM is happy......all is good? ;)

    Yea, it's less of a deal with your manager, they love it secretly. They don't tell you they do because if a merchant gets pissed off then he will come after you and enough incidents of this he will pull his product which means CPA company loses money. It's a fine line to be walking my friend, but if you play your cards right you should be fine. Always try to mix a little white hat so they back off.

    Thanks for the response Paper-Boy;
    So...; maybe this differs from network to network, advertiser to advertiser...or even AM to AM..?

    yup only google will care really.
    lots of guys get their cloaked sites banned. It all depends on your strategy and your cloaking skill that determines that. I have cloaked sites from 2 years ago that are still going strong

    What about Social Networking sites, is there a way to cloak the Affiliate ID and show that the users aren't coming from Facebook? Is there software that does this and shows that they visited the product from their IP/location (and ideally not from some proxy or blanked out referrer)?

    I heard of iFraming and Javascript, but what I am afraid of most is totally blanking out the referrer, which makes the affiliate managers pull the ban hammer out.

    Same here. I've got 11 cloaked sites that are still getting regular indexing and SE traffic, but it's obvious to anyone that isn't a hunt-n-pecker that they're cloaked.
    :confused:

    if nothing converts you're banned because the advertiser cuts the lines

    And that is supposed to make sense regarding cloaking ?.:D
    1/Sending possible buyers straight to a cloaked landing page..and they dont buy..
    2/Sending possible buyers through a link...to the exact same landing page(non cloaked)..and they dont buy..
    Why would I get banned..????
    Its the problem with the landing page/niche etc and has fucking zero to do with what this topic is about..
    And..the referrer on the serps page shows a normal looking search result with no cache showing....big frigging deal..
    A customer buying from a cloaked site..is buying a product they think they want..end of story..
    You get sales for an affiliate company..from a cloaked site..most dont give a shit..why would they..the practise is not illegal just frowned upon by the search engines...eeecckkk
