When I launched this particular website about 1,5 years ago, I submitted it to DMOZ without thinking too much about it. To my delight, I noticed it had recently been approved. I might not even have noticed, if not for the fact that Google has now started displaying the vastly outdated DMOZ description in the snippet, instead of my own meta text. The DMOZ description is outdated and doesn't even include my main keyword, which has caused the rankings to drop. Probably CTR too since the info is old.

I already attempted to modify the DMOZ listing to include the main kw, but knowing them that might take ages. Does anyone know another way this could be fixed?

Try this meta tag, to block ODPs (which DMOZ is), it will take a few days to change:

<meta name="robots" content="NOODP">

Seems that indeed did the trick, now it shows as normal again and rankings went up a little, although didn't completely recover yet. Thanks a lot!

The Editor decides your title, not anything you submit. The editor can make it anything he wants. This is why you may not get your keyword in there as you want, and its why I went ahead and put an editor on my side a while ago.
