Hi everyone,

I've recently noticed a significant decline in my website's ranking following a recent Google update. It's been a source of concern for me as it's impacting the visibility and traffic to my site. I'm reaching out to the community here for some insights and advice on how to address this issue effectively.

Here are some specific questions I have:

  1. Has anyone else experienced a drop in rankings after the recent Google update?
  2. Are there any specific strategies or best practices recommended for recovering lost rankings?
  3. How can I assess if my site has been penalized or if it's an algorithmic issue?
  4. Are there any tools or resources available to diagnose and fix ranking issues effectively?
Any input or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. I'm eager to learn from your expertise and insights to resolve this matter and regain lost visibility for my website.

Thank you in advance for your contributions to this discussion.

I was about to say, backlinks are the solution.

Since HCU, the only thing that matters is authority (derived mainly from backlinks).

Content (capacity, quality, etc) stopped mattering since AI can simply mass produce it now at a decent enough quality (filling the search intent) and Google can't tell the difference past the obnoxiously obvious footprints (meaning backlinks have become the number 1 And number 2* most important ranking factors).

Thank you for the guide

This is a big issue that most website owners face right now. Google also points out that quality matters to increase a website's ranking. As they said, creating backlinks from relevant and quality sites matters. This is what Google prioritizes now.

Also, if your web pages have less helpful content, then it is also a matter of ranking. Read and understand the Core Update to learn the problems and get solutions, and audit your website to analyze it.

hey guys.
So what has happened is this:
-before the update, the quality page (on page seo) was the 1st factor in Serp
-after the update, the backlinks (off page seo) are the 1st factor in Serp
… making the quality page less important than before?

I don't understand your question.

Your decline started in September 2023, it's hard to say.

Also, 2.6k keywords for 11.3k traffic is very low.

For me, this is more about your website/content quality than backlinks.

I have a 100% AI site with 0 metrics and 0 backlinks, 150 days old, that got a boost in rankings since the 5th of March.

Good Info, Mate
