A couple days ago my website disappeared from the rankings for my main keyword. I was on the 4th page before this, growing steadily (1-3 positions/day). An internal page from my site was still ranked 96th but now that's gone too. Normally I would assume it's just dancing, but my website has halted on 3rd page for my secondary keyword. My anchors are almost even for both keywords so I would think it would be dancing on both keywords, not just one. Combined with the fact that growth was so steady previously, it just seems different than the usual google dance.

Is there any reason why a site might get penalized for one keyword but not another? Or is it just a weird dance I'm reading too much into? Any input would be appreciated.

P4 is granular meaning it can affect one keyword but not others. P4 penalty is also devastating, keywords will completely evaporate from the serps. They claim you can recover by removing links but seems to me the "recovery" process takes forever while the penalty is swift and harsh.
