I uploaded an article to a large coin site the day before yesterday and the article contains content related to my website.

I used common keywords like “check out this website” as anchor text in the article.

A few hours after the article was published, my main site disappeared from all search results, and the article was ranked on page 1 of the main keyword search results.

Originally, my website was ranked on page 10 of the main keyword search results.

Did publishing this article affect my main site search results?
Or is it just a coincidence?

Would it be a good idea to disavow that link? Or is it better to wait?

I think you should not make prompt decisions in SEO, Observe for the next 7-10 days and then take action.

It seems that it is not just because of your backlinks, it shouldn't be actually. May be a coincidence.

By the way, how many days you are in the top 10, and the content age?

If you publish very recently then this is normal to give you some position to understand the content.

Overall, wait and see.

Thanks.

Within a few hours of being published, the article was ranked on page 1. The content is only a few hours old.

I'd love to have that site in my portfolio... like stated above, let the guest post marinate for a bit before making a bold decision.

I guessed it right. Then your backlinks have nothing to do with your ranking. (for this context). This is called Google Dance. It happens for newly published posts. This doesn't indicate that your posts will be in those positions for long.

This wasn't the keyword's real position at all. You have to wait for its position. then you should build backlinks.

The time frame is too short for that link to ve the reason. Secondly, your site was already ranking very low(page 10), on my opinion there's not much difference between page 10 and sites that are out of the result page.

Any major improvement by other sites could push your site out, if Google doesn't consider it worthy enough.

Finally, it could be the Google dance we've always known. So give things some time.

What is the connection between the guest post I uploaded and my main site disappearing from search results?

My brand name disappeared from search results with no keyword search volume, and all images also disappeared from search results.

My site can only be found at site:.

If your main site is vanishing and the article ranking are related, give it some time before deciding to disavow the link - it could just be a temporary thing
