One of the things I reminisce from the time I lived in the US is this. In Europe we do not have a "diner culture". You don't just go to those burgunty couches from Pulp Fiction and sit there "normally" at 4am ordering scrambled eggs. Does it happen here? Yes but it's here and there and not normalized. I don't know but it gives me a sense of comfort if I've been out for like 5 hours and late into the night you just drop into one of these places and order food normally like it's Sunday afternoon. It's a sense of belonging, that "civilization" got your back no matter what in a way.

I can make that egg and bacon for a couple bucks, why would I pay some old boomer to pour me coffee with a nasty attitude? Last time I went to one, I think I tipped em' 1 penny for lousy service. I do remember sitting there and looking at all the fat people, almost made it worth the price - for entertaining me. Some of these people belong in a Zoo, if that's wrong for saying and fat shaming, then fine. All that fat will kill you one day, fatso's. See, I am helping you; fatass.

Respect fatass. They put ton of effort to maintain their weight. Their organs have to work 2 or 3 times as hard as those of skinnies.

Last night shift I worked with a fatass. He said "I'm about to die" or similar. I told him to stop and take a break. He had to take 30 minutes and sit down.

Next day he was fine. When fat people get stressed... you might need to call an ambulance.

The diner culture is alive and well in the USA.

They are great places to go almost anytime of the day and are often fairly full, offering their comfort food.

Give me a California burger with a Coke, and I'm all over it.

Mostly pathetic and over-rated here. If the food isn’t poor quality or over priced, bad service including miserly staff often make me want to never go again. Can’t even order a subway without them fucking the order up these days.
