One of the things I reminisce from the time I lived in the US is this. In Europe we do not have a "diner culture". You don't just go to those burgunty couches from Pulp Fiction and sit there "normally" at 4am ordering scrambled eggs. Does it happen here? Yes but it's here and there and not normalized. I don't know but it gives me a sense of comfort if I've been out for like 5 hours and late into the night you just drop into one of these places and order food normally like it's Sunday afternoon. It's a sense of belonging, that "civilization" got your back no matter what in a way.
