    I'm new!

I've gathered I need to spread things out - diversity diversity diversity.
Initially I was planning a few buffer sites on different domains and platforms. I still am, but I'm wondering what the effect is of building lots of links on one platform (tumblr, weebly etc...) but on different accounts? Is the first link worth lots, and every link after that less? How many is too many (assuming the rest of my backlinks are spread out).

    Thanks in advance,
    Hamish

All Tumblr sites are hosting on 1 IP so ofcourse you wouldn't get much of advantage even if you have different accounts on Tumblr so maybe you can get links from different platforms to diversify like weebly, blogspot etc. Try to get links from different C class IP hosted websites, which works great for ranking sites nowadays

There are no special tricks left with Tumblr sites are there?

You used to be able to like or reblog something and get a link from their tumblr page which might have PR, but now those likes and reblogs are not on the main blog page so won't have PR?

So now you would link build to it like any other site?
