I was wondering if anyone could be so kind as to outline how the friends system works on Digg.

Also the difference between a FAN and MUTUAL FRIEND.

Well the "fans" see your diggs but you don't see theirs and mutual friends see each other diggs. Also when you "shout" both see your shouts. But be careful how many mutual friends you have cause there's a limit.
Regards.

For some reason I thought it was more complicated than that...guess not.

From talking to a couple of friends who are heavy digg users (usually they get 1 front page every 1-2 days) if you vote for more than 200 articles a day now, Digg will actually stop any stories you submit from hitting the front page.

It used to be that you needed to add the power users (babyman/saleem etc..) but as they submit so often you're better off looking at the second tier of digg users who are active but only submit 1 or 2 articles per day otherwise you'll be digging your friends submissions and never make the front page yourself.
