Hello I plan on starting to rank for multiple keywords (regular and long tail) in my niche but I am wondering about something. For example: my site is called pureblankets.com I then did keyword research. Then I bought more domains for many various keywords (normal and long tail) in my niche since it is easier to rank if the keywords are actually in the domain name. Examples: puresoftblankets.com puresoftblanketsnow.com pureheavyblankets.com I want to rank all these domains for all the keywords that I mentioned above (1. pure blankets 2. pure soft blankets 3. pure soft blankets now 4. pure heavy blankets) but I want them all to simply be re-directed to my main site which of course is pureblankets.com Will this be a problem with G? Any information provided will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
oh ok I do plan on link building for these domains also though if that makes any difference... thanks.
It's really not worth it in my opinion, especially if you're redirecting. For one, when you redirect those long tail domains you're no longer ranking that site so the keyword domain benefit is gone. On top of that links that are 301'd are devalued. The big thing is the metrics that apply to the domain itself. Authority, for example is applied to a domain. If you link to 4 pages on one domain, each page gets the benefit of the central domains authority. If you use 4 different domains, each one only has the authority built by its own links so it's significantly diminished.
I understand what you are saying. It makes more sense now not to focus on this. Thank you for your information.
I don't think OP gave original keywords on which he planned to work... He mentioned in his first post that for example Still these are good keywords and may be open to market
Exactly. Giving my real keywords away on a forum doesn't make too much sense. These are decent keywords though. They definitely are open to market so start marketing away if you wish to do so.
