    Hello Everyone,

Thought I'd share this here so you guys can avoid the trouble I went through earlier. Apparently there was a very recent Google Places update which threw all my listings into 'Pending Review'. Leaving your listings like this can prevent them from showing up in the directory. If you weren't banned for a legitimate reason (aka just this recent bug) you can reactivate your listings without the need to contact the big 'G' by doing the following.

    1. Click the 'Edit' button on your listing as if you were going to update the address or the phone number.

    2. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. If you change information, you may be stuck in review for even longer. Simply scroll down and click 'Submit'.

    3. Rinse and Repeat for all other 'Pending Review' listings

Hope this helps some of you avoid the stress/confusion I went through earlier today :D

Crap, too late. Had the same problem and added a picture to the profile. Luckily we're nr 1 and 2 in the search results :D

Edit: my places profile is active (not pending) but it's nowhere in the Places search results. Bizarr!

Wierd...I checked my listings yesterday and they were all live but I will double check later today when I get back into the office. Did you check right after you submitted your changes?

All of my clients Places listings went pending review day before yesterday (all listings remained active in the local search). I logged in to each account and dbl checked for anything that may be spammy in the eyes of Google. Made a correction in the description of a client with 5 locations, but other than that, no changes made. This morning, all back on-line - no problems. whew...

Haha, yea, the first thing I did was start to edit my descriptions. After the first one went active immediately after I changed the description I did some testing to find out that it would go active again without changing anything. Luckily too cuz I like my nice keyword full descriptions :D !

I checked my listings and they are both listed and active in my account. Was your listing showing up prior to the last update?

Stupid bug has completely jacked up my listing. Kept bouncing in and out of SERPs, lost reviews, and merged with another listing. That is until the other day. Now I have to reverify the listing.

Fracking Google. Getting sick of this shit with Places. They just love to throw out changes with no care at all what it does to people like me who rely on that traffic. They keep jacking up my listings. I had one listing with someone else's videos that was anti my service...WTF?!?!

I've had this happen as well with one of my clients. Actually had a competitors review show up on our places listing. I petitioned to have it removed and it has yet to be done :/. Did you try my trick to quickly reverify them?

No unfortunately I just hit reverify prior to reading this thread. I had a couple of people tell me ways to try and bypass it but the advice was too late. Oh well, just have to wait. Just irritating and costing me money.

Between Places and regular search, Google is driving me nuts. You would think a multibillion dollar company could get their shit together. They are the worst company when it comes to any kind of support. Unless you're a huge adwords customer, they don't give a flying F about you.

One thing I've learned is that every time I touch anything (edit) it just takes that much longer to show.

Bumping the thread since I see this is still effecting people. Hopefully this will help someone avoid some headache.
