    I think I got swindled...but I don't know enough to know. lol.

Ok, so way back in August when I was a baby IM'er I got these forum backlinks from fiverr. Well today I pulled up the profile links that were sent to me as proof, so I could use the same forums and create another set. Well, when I go into the links, none of the profiles have my links in them anymore. They now have another website!!

So my question...if they create a profile, put my link in it, and then ping it..is that good enough, or does my site have to STAY in the profile to be effective. BTW - none of the forum links are showing up when I do a backlinke check. I think I know my answer.

    I'm glad it's called "fiverr".

You only get credit for the links if they still exist. If they remove yours and add another sites links then you end up with nothing. Personally I would email and ask the WTF and see what kind of response you get. Not worth wasting much time on it for $5 but I would drop them an email. It might not be a scam, I know I have done it to my self a couple of times, overwriting existing links by mistake. It probably is a scam but worth an email to find out for sure.

Do you really expect more than that for $5 out of which the service provider only gets $3.92!!!

Why are people not ready to pay for what they want???

Changing the links on the profiles though, that is shitty and sheer laziness, the accounts the links are on are free to create and heck i can have roboform create me an account with the click of a button.

Don't mind please..but than why to waste those precious $5!
If you are talking about anything over 10 accounts even on free sites, look what the service provider is getting for about half an hours work...

$3.92 that too in 14 days time provided you accept the work as soon as it is delivered or it will be delayed further to a maximum of 3 days. In worst possible case that is 17 days!
How many of us will be willing to wait that long for this much and after that if you are from some country where $ is not base currency, you have to pay a currency conversion fees. Than there may be a transfer fees as well. I believe expectations from us, people in developing countries (I am an Indian), is that we'll work for anything!
    That's not right...

coolmail its not about the cost of the work, remember the seller sets the price not the buyer, so he is a robbing ********ing thief, to steal back the profiles, If he doesnt think its worth his time Don.t offer the service.

In the end he gives indians a bad reputation and all indians suffer because why would anybody pay an indian a proper rate, if most of them are scammers,

Business is all about reputation, and Indians have a bad reputation because of guys like him. Your defending him makes it even worse, because you like many indians think its ok to rip off the rich foreigner, With this attitude, it will be impossible to ever rise from the gutter.

Why do you think Americans and Europeans can demand higher prices, Its because people believe rightly or wrongly, they have a better chance of getting what they pay for.

Ya...I agree with you totally but for the word "gutter"!!

I was not defending him, I am not even sure that he is an Indian. I feel that he is bad enough that we should not waste our time talking about him. I was just saying that we should not fall for elusive advertisements! The promises that service providers make should be evaluated first. You can't believe someone if they say that their product will turn you fairer or slim in a week no matter what...can you?

Were you promised the links would stay live forever? How many forum links did he offer? For Fiverr, I promise a set amount of backlinks, but I NEVER guarantee they will stay live for a long time. I tell customer THEY must index the links themselves if they want them to be effective. I dont think anything was wrong with what the seller did. The information you learned from this is WORTH the $5.00.

There is a big difference between a profile link getting deleted by a mod or admin and reusing the same profile for another clients link. Not even in the same country......

When you create profile links you have no control over the site so of course you can not guarantee how long they will last. However the ones that do last are supposed to belong to the person who paid for them. They are not supposed to be reused for another client. That is just plain wrong. You are cheating your client out of what they paid for.

Do you seriously not see the difference?? You really think it is ok to remove a clients links that he has paid for and replace them with another clients?

If you index the websites right away when they are submitted, you WILL receive benefit from them. You will get a short term boost in backlinks, which will last until the next person indexes their links. Its $5.00. Nobody can expect a permanent launch to #1 in google, but a short term boost is reasonable. As I said, there are lessons to be learned, and $5.00 is a fair price to learn for being SPECIFIC when outsourcing work.

You got screwed for sure. Why else would they replace the links?
And if they aren't there, they aren't backlinks.
