so there is a niche in which I want to start a YouTube channel in. I found a big successful channel and the narrator of this channel has a voice that perfectly fits the nature of this niche. I tried cloning his voice using play.ht and it worked perfectly.

I am wondering if I may have issues with monetization in the future. Is anyone using a cloned voice (not ai premade, but ai cloned) in their videos and having success with it?

If you have high-quality content, there should be no problems with a cloned voice.

If the cloned voice is good then that's not an issue at all. YouTube won't be able to tell the difference between a cloned and a real voice. Try VoiceLabs, they even have a new feature where you can dictate the tonality of the sentences by using your own voice.

I mean the quality I got is pretty decent, it really is. My concern is about it being cloned. Can there be copyright issues? Since I'm copying someone's voice. What if the person the voice belongs to finds the channel and reports it

Can't find VoiceLabs. Can you please specify the link?

Sorry I meant https://elevenlabs.io/

I guess that's always an option. But it's also really hard to prove that someone has "stolen" your voice. It's not like you use existing footage from other YouTube videos. So far I haven't encountered this issue.

I tested elevenlabs multiple times, I didn't see any feature where you can adjust the tone of the voice. Is it available only for paid users?
Yeah its for paid users only. They introduced it this week I think.

How is he making the channel ? How old is this channel and has he migrated to Ai recently ? I doubt that channel will last long.

The channel I want to clone the voice from is 8 years old and has 1m subscribers and his videos get 100k-200k views easily. I don't think he uses AI in any way. He is a legit creator. The biggest flex is his voice. Perfect voice for the niche.

What is the quality of AI cloned voice? Can normal human beings distinguish the voice from normal?

You should also sell the tool you are using for this cloning. If it is as good as you are telling, you will make much more in long run.

No, there won't be any copyright problems provided your content is original.

Never heard anyone getting copyright for audio and even if you cloned there maybe some variations so I believe you should be safe.
