Did anyone ever get their money back from the Erik Creed BHW scam?

    IM all the way.
This is probably too long ago for people to remember, but one of the biggest scams I ever saw take place on BHW was by a guy named Erik Creed. A long standing member, he went to the JV section claiming to have some great scheme whereby you invested $200 and you got $400 back within a few months, or something like that.

I was relatively new to IM at the time and this got me all excited. I almost invested. Thank god I didn't, because otherwise I'd have been scammed like everyone else was here: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/shit-list/339133-bhw-member-erik-creed-jv-scam-10.html

Just wondering if that ever panned out into anything. People tried to get him criminally investigated at the time. Now BHW has a much better JV system that protects members from these sorts of scams, way more JV restrictions in place now.

That reminds me of the old money flipper scams in MMORPG's where a player would say, "I've just discovered a rare glitch that doubles your money through trading". I'm surprised to hear that a similar scam took place on Black Hat World 4 years ago.

Why are you susrprised about scams on a black hat forum lol ... it kind of comes with the territory.

With that said, the number of scams have gone down drastically over the last few years since the mods have cracked down on JV threads and require services to be reviewed before going live. Thanks to the mods/admin. :)

You misconstrued my post. I'm not surprised that a scam took place on Black Hat World, I'm surprised about that low-level trust trade scam taking place on Black Hat World on a large scale.

I remember the erik creed scam, I can see I posted in the shit list.. I think it was more shocking as he was a "respected" (lulz) member here at the time. But what about that chailak scam.. I'd say that was the biggest by far and he wasn't considered "respected".. watching that unfold and people fall for it was surreal to say the least.

Things have definitely changed for the good around here in that respect since those old days.

It was a good read. I didnt know it was called a Ponzi scheme. This also happened in my home country on a really large scale, it was called a Pyramidal Scheme. In the end the country went to a civil war.

Bhw was known for its scams and protection of mods.Dont get me wrong i dont accuse any mod that he partisipated in these scams but they also deleted critic posts.I remember the greek guy with forex or stocks which had big investments.
How did it ended as i just read about it on other boards

Interesting that mods delete negative feedback. They do that in the marketplace too.

One of the worst was former Exec VIP Wealthy199 (profile link), it went down in 2008 or early 2009 if I recall correctly.

He was a really trusted and active member who came out with a coaching program to teach noobs for $2500+, he ran with well over $100,000 and didn't deliver anything of value to the paid forum.

Fuck, some have shit went down here in the past, its no wonder why is so strict now.
But how in hell did the chailak scam every see the light of day, it was an obvious ponzi scheme. I personally didn't like to hear the part where the Mods where deleting negative post and honestly its just stupid to believe he was all alone in this shit.

How interesting. That explains why coaching is no longer allowed here on Black Hat World.

You need to get your facts straight before you start making erroneous accusations.

If a person is a buyer on a particular marketplace thread, and if he is
somehow dissatisfied with a particular service, he is allowed to make
ONE negative feedback post. We delete the others. If he needs to
carry the dispute any further, he is advised to start a Shit List thread.

Wow they explicitly mention BB in that article... Was he actually taking bribes? I've never even heard of chailak but that was one of the most interesting things I've read in a long time.
