I know this isnt exactly blackhat but this is where ive seen this type of thing used and need it so I'm asking ^ ^

I've seen it used primarily with explaining Linkwheels, basically it lets you map out "web" style diagrams... Bubble A links to Bubble B and C, C links to A, all link to D, and D links back sort of thing

Don't really know how else to describe it...anyone know what I'm talking about and know whats being used? I need to layout a plan but I don't want to use paint -.-

Sounds like SerpAssist. Link network diagramming. Def. not blackhat. I'm a member there and love it. They just released, 2 days ago, a way to make those diagrams w/ just a few clicks. Used to take me 45 minutes per diagram.

I'm not allowed to place links but there is a good open-source diagram software that I use from time to time in my SEO work. It's called Dia.

I use Edraw Max for my network designs, as well as other interesting flowchart designs.

I believe this tool is the best diagram tool anywhere.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks for bringing up SerpAssist.

    $97/mo - very interesting concept.

However, you may want to consider BassTackBoat's Linkpushing as I believe his services may be much better than SerpAssist.

I'll check it out - I'm a SerpAssist cool aid drinker right now though. They are the bomb. It's not $97 if you Google it. Anyone who promotes it can sell it for $77/month.

I've been using Topicscape for a few years now, but after checking out Edraw Max and I have decided to switch.

For power and versatility I use the free yEd Graph Editor by yWorks. Does swimlane, family tree, social network, flowchart, uml styles. Does circular, tree, orthogonal, organic, and hierarchy layouts. Does nested hierarchies where you can see different levels of your work, i.e. see money site with five non-interlinked spokes leading to it, then explode one spoke to show ten second-level spokes, open those spokes to show 20 throw-away profile links per spoke, etc. Handles small graph work; handles huge graph work.

    Code:

kid shaleen - i checked out the graphing/flowcharting software you mentioned in your post (y graph) and it really is a great recommendation.

bubble.us is another free alternative that many people have used and dont get me wrong, its acceptable, but considering this thing is also free, ygraphs is outstanding. more like a paid for professional graphics package.

highly recommend it to anyone who wants to produce their own flowcharts

ps - thanks given to kid shaleen as this was a real gem of a find for me as ive been creating process maps of the various tasks involved with creating a site and then promoting it, but nothing seemed to work in terms of creating clean professional looking diagrams.

If you have Mac then Omnigraffle does all of that stuff, very easy to use. Dia is another one (open source) never used it though.
