I've been contacting many of the providers in the private proxy area but have yet to find a working solution.

All I'm trying to do is send out small opt-in email lists a few times a day. I will not blacklist the ips; I will NOT spam millions; I will not do anything illegal.

My mailing will be fully CAN-SPAM compliant. If anyone can PM me or point me in the right direction I would be much obliged.

    Thanks!

There is a MASSIVE difference between spam and opt-in mailing.

I am an opt-in mailer, not a spammer.

As for how much I'd be willing to pay ... I was expecting to pay hundreds a month.

If you use proxies....It isn't LEGAL.

    Incorrect.

If you are the owner/controller/administrator of the ip, it is legal.

Think of it like this: If you had 10 different servers that you were using to send mail directly to recipients, you would be mailing legally.

If you are relaying off of your own proxies, you're simply eliminating the need for 10 different computers. You use your master computer to relay your messages off of your slaves (proxies).

    Read the law, it's legal.

knock yourself out. I can't manage to get my head around a situation where anyone would be looking on blackhat for proxies and his mailing being "legal"...but I suppose it is technically possible..albeit highly unlikely.

It isn't about being better...its just that anyone on this forum slinging peas...is probably not selling legal/authorized ones.

There's basically 3 different types of proxies:

1.) scanned (open relays and unprotected computers)
    2.) infected pcs and botnets
3.) owned and controlled ip ranges - LEGAL

    I'm looking for number 3. :)

    This is a serious question...

Why would someone release those? Perhaps I have been dealing with spammers and grey/blackhat people too long, but I have never heard of anyone offering these. I know of a huge mailer that operates his own c classes...but he would never consider renting them out. Have you seen them offered before?

The same reason a person would send commercial email: To make money.

There are a dozen entities offering them in the "Proxies for Sale" section but none of them have been a fit for me yet.

    Hence the post. :)
