This was on my mind for a couple of days now, I wanted to know what is your opinion on it. From what I understand it is really hot up there, correct? 100,000+ deaths, insane heat...

get what I'm saying? what are the chances of some new disease forming from all those dead bodies? Just my $0.02 at 2AM

i need to research why haiti is so poor still in the 2010, you know they are getting atleast 100-500million(not one single country donates, all the rich celebs donate millions alone and think about all the other rich countries that donate aswell and all the companys and fortune 500 companys that offer matching donations ETC) easily each time shit happends to them.

the money seems like its dead money though, like it goes to corrupt officials , this isn't the first crisis we had with haiti. each time anything happends everyone donates hundreds of millions of dollars, and each time that death toll goes up mucho money is comming, but yet even in the year 2010, the country is extremly underdeveloped.

watch, the country will still look the same or even worse in the year 2050,

everyone in the world donates to them when any crisis pops up, and yet the country is still extremly underdeveloped.

and if you think i'm full of what i'm talking about look at hurricane katrina , don't say shit til u've been to that area, i've just recently went down there in 2008 thanksgiving and its truly amazing , it seems like the money is just simply misused and going into the wrong pockets each time any sort of crisis erupts,

its really amazing how united states went from complete shit to what it is today, all within matter of 300 years. honestly its really amazing, and while other countries are EXTREMLY UNDERDEVELOPED to this DATE!

even Africa. THE RICHEST (based on the metric of natural resources) in the WORLD. and yet still so extremly underdeveloped.

    :cool2::cool2::cool2:

i guess some of those conspiracies are perhaps true.

Blackhat50, the reason why they don't develop was actually researched.
The conclusion was that they rely on aid. It's a vicious circle.
The more aid you send the more depended they become from what you send.

In Haiti they were mostly depending from rice they grew.
But since they are so poor and all the disasters they can get rice cheap from the un.
The rice comes from subsidized american farmers. And because of that the rice is actually cheaper then if they were to grow it them selfs.
Putting the business they had out of business. The only way they might ever get out the cycle is to get a good government in place and spread knowledge. Same goes for africa.
But thats also where the stinger is. Thats easier said then done.

And lets be honest, a lot of people didn't give a crap about them before the quakes.
When the smoke clears, all camera crews go home because there are no more qaulity dead people footage to be shot, or another celebrity dies.
We will all forget Haiti, and let them rot.

boy was I wrong with the 100million to 500 million.:(

Probably should say atleast 1-2 billion now.

    source:
EU nations pledge $575 million for Haiti aid

only thing i don't get is if they a family of four in haiti can eat for $1 dollar a day, how many days could we buy them for 1-2billion, hell 1/4th to 2/4 of the population is gone now in that area.

LOL they cant develop cause they have to accept a president dictated from the US who is not working for the residents.
Maybe you should also take a look that from 1$ you donate into a big organisation maybe 0.1-0.15$ arrives to the victims.50% is going for administration stuff.from the second half 50% into black channels. After that corruption etc.....and best part of it most of the big organizations are coworking with the US military for searching enemies. You guys should read more reports than watching lying TV's.
Maybe you should ask yourself why every country is sending help organisation/groups and the US their US military with an airplaneship and why they already decided to take control over haiti for next years which is a very nice location for Venezuela.I'm sorry but the american government isnt really helping all they do is to gain a better location for a possible war against venezuela

The sad reality is that, much like with 9/11, they will never find all of the bodies. After 9/11, the death toll kept fluctuating (albeit more mildly than the Haitian death toll).

In 9/11, the Twin Towers were turned into basically a crematorium under which hundreds of melted corpses were trapped. They never recovered all of them.

In the Haitian disaster, many of the larger structures that collapsed will eventually be bulldozed, with God knows how many corpses still buried.

IIRC, a similar thing also occurred with that horrific tsunamai - so many people were just washed away, they had a very hard time figuring out the actual death toll.

The bottom line is that it's a horrible tragedy regardless of the numbers. My personal advice is give what you can to an organization you're familiar with (red cross, doctors without borders, the ClintonBushHaitiFund come to my mind).

I'm not gonna get all political, I have my opinions about Bubba and W., but Bubba and W.'s dad have done a lot of good charitable work. Regardless, consider how much you spend monthly on various things and consider giving a portion of it to some group that seems reputable, and pray it goes to good use. That's all we can do from afar.

You dont learn anything right?Giving money to red cross you are not really supporting the victims in haiti but the US government.
A new article about it http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/comments_blog/2010/01/rush-limbaugh-haiti-earthquake-relief-donations-obama-red-cross-links.html
Use non-governmental agencies such as churches/salvation army you will help like 10 times donating there.
Take a look what red cross build with all the money they get in Kabul/Afghanistan.People have no food there and the red cross build there a villa destrict isolated from the rest of the civilians which have prices like 5 times as in USA.You think people have any money from that villas? And after you see the villas check yourself who is living in these villas and how much they are charging for it.
And ask yourself if your donation is helping the civilians there?
In europe the red cross is cheating like hell.Like asking for used clothes for poor people.Do you think they are giving it to the poor people ?WRONG they are selling it to traders who are selling this kind of clothes for good money in less rich countries (basicly eastern eruope). So when donating old clothes show me how you are helping poor people. You arent, red cross is just a place for getting jobs to VIP's to make a fortune and to gain economic power.Only in germany are about 500k employers getting a passiv work from red cross.

Dont even say that. NO DISEASES!!!!!!! my entire family lives in the DR and they are bringing all the Haitians to the hospitals in the DR my mom told me that, so if diseases spread that will be bad. Also my family said they felt both earthquakes and I am so afraid that it is going to happen in the DR too, but i am praying that it doesn't.

Damn, did you read the accusation against Wyclefs charity, called yele? All the money was first transfered to his personal bank account.

He had this interview on Oprah, too. She looked all the time like she wants to defent him. I really think Wyclef is such a big, classic liar.

Look at his new video, and the comments...:

That all sounds about what I'd expect from someone who has the hammer and sickle for their avatar.
The utter ignorance of your conspiracy theory is astounding.

Care to show proof (and don't give me some ultra leftists, paranoid internet blog as proof) of American wanting to declare war on Venezuela?

And other than the fact that Haiti has had a history of corrupt leaders and government, would you like to show us all some PROOF that the US "dictated" who the president of Haiti would be and exactly how we accomplished that.

LMFAO!!! Well I thought you were ignorant with your comments on how the US is after Venezuela but now I just want to ask you:

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO READ???

DO YOU KNOW THAT THE LA TIMES ARTICLE YOU QUOTED IS NOTHING MORE THAN AN ARTICLE ABOUT RUSH LIMBAUGH'S INSANE, HATEFUL, RIGHTWING BULLSHIT DIATRIBE AIMED AT ANYTHING HE DEEMS WRONG (ie democrats, Obama etc)

Do you realize how ideologically opposite the LA TimeS and Rush Limbaugh are and how much the Times despises him and vice versa?

Do you live here? In the US??? Do you fucking know who Rush Limbaugh is?

Do you do any research on your own or just spew nonsense? Did you give a fucking dollar, rupee, euro, krona etc to help these poor fucking people or did you lift a finger to physically help an aid group or do you just sit behind your keyboard and slam people for trying to fucking help?
