I'm looking at getting some DBAs for my s-corp LLC. Each will have their own EIN.

My questions are:

- Does the DBA have to file taxes separate from the original LLC?
- If they do pay their own taxes, what is even the advantage to doing this? Why not just get a separate LLC?

Thanks!!

I just sent this question to my agent then I'll reply to you when I got reply. Interesting...

Well, for one, it's a simple form. Therefore, cheaper and faster than reincorporating. But please report your findings.

I really don't think that each DBA files separately. It's the LLC that files, pass through or separate body, but not each DBA.

But what's the point in having the separate EIN if they don't report separately. If it's just a DBA, then no problem, the main company files. But if they have their own EIN, does each DBA that has an EIN have to file?

I don't know about where you are located, but a bank I used to work for stopped doing DBA's about 5 years ago, and the bank I am with now also doesn't do DBAs. I'm not sure if this is a per bank thing or if they just don't do DBA's anymore.

You may want to consult with your banker.

Yes. Every business entity that has an EIN # is Required to file taxes quarterly according to the irs. So based on that Information, I believe you do.
