For many of you, it is Day 2 (or 3?) of this big Google SERP update. What are you seeing over there on the other side of the world? Any recovery? More sites falling off of the grid?? Please let us know!

For those of us still in "yesterday" here in the USA (especially on the West Coast!), we are waiting for what could be Armageddon Part 2 coming when we wake up tomorrow. No large hits happened for many of the people that I know here in the USA until today, so I am considering the 26th as Day 2, even though many of you are reporting being hit on the 24th. Ah, it's just crazy. Either way, it sucks.

RISING and CLIMBING SERP vibes to you all. I hope everyone recovers. I'm so bummed for so many people here on BHW.

from page 1, i was thrown to page 11 on my keyword. however, i found that most those in lower pages are sites from web2.0, wiki, social bookmark and article directories. it's just a common senuke blast, i check some of them and they have lots of links inside with poor contents.

hope this is not the final yet...maybe tomorrow another update to correct this one.

Loved this update actually one site went up 12 precent and my other site more then 140%. The one with the big improvement got pandalized a year ago, kept writing articled though and it finally payed off. Writing about 15 posts a day on both sites, all unique and mostly news.

My sites have taken a beating but something I noticed today is that some of my shit sites actually have some clicks on adsense. These are total crap sites that have been sitting around for a while with mostly spun content on it and not a lot of backlinks. Go figure.

Also noticed that a couple of my money sites that got hit hard are making money again but not from homepage traffic. Most of my traffic is from unbacklinked internal pages.

My sites have bounced upward due to some serious manual/auto linkbuilding with a super nested spun article that took me five hours to finish spinning. My favorite aspect of this recent update which I attribute to my hard work over the past two weeks is:

    300k exact search term/month
    STEEP competition

    Previously: #56
    Now: #13 and climbing.

Each day this bugger has climbed about 5 spots.

Do you guys know if Google Adsense/Adwords is taking a big hit too because of this new algorithm?

I noticed that my average CPC jumped from 30 cents a click to 75 cents a click (just today). It never went that high before! This makes me think that the Google ad network isn't receiving as much clicks as before because the sites that do have Adsense banners are now replaced with sites that don't support Google Adsense.

But yah, for some of my keywords I have dropped a few spots. One keyword, I was 2nd place and now im on the 2nd page. It is hurting my Adsense revenue. I am only earning half now.

Not update, my site still drop down from top 1-3 to pages 3-4 on SERP. So terrible. Why? Good contents, Good visit, Good link!

Not really and difference I have a personal site that took a beating, no biggie b/c it doesnt make me much money anyway but it did irk me because it is by far the site with the most unique and helpful content. On the other hand a clients site I started less than 60 days ago just hit page 1 (#10) for a pretty competetive kw in the Pharma niche. Very very similar backlink profile on both, so I am waiting to see what happens next.

One of my keywords that was not in the top 500 jumped up to #72. Hopefully it will keep climbing. As for my other keywords, all have pretty much stayed the same.

    Been hit hard too.

Last Friday 2 of my 3 money sites got hit, site1 dropped to page 15 and site2 to page 26?
I did read on a Matt C post that this was a bug with the update? something to do with 'parked domains'?
So i hoped to see both sites moving back to original positions but nope ... a week on and nothing.

As for the update yesterday, my 3rd site (site3) which was on page5 dropped to page36??? but site1 and site2 didn't move?

I did just read in another thread something about webmasters saying that yesterdays update was some kind of roll back and sites had returned to rankings from 3 months ago? then other webmasters disagred saying there sites had not moved to ranking from 3 months ago?
My thoughts are that if you was in a G penalty 3 months ago you might revist this? Three months ago i was sitting in the mid 30's as i am now? so im guessing that over the next few days/weeks you will see your sites return out of a old G penalty?

Will update everyone in the next few days if anything moves?

one thing I have noticed is that although I lost a few sites I had a record day on adsense yesterday! However today it is a different story I still got 90% of the traffic I had but the adsense rpm is quiter frankly terrible. I am wondering if Google is tweaking adsense through put because the advertisers are getting bad ROI at the moment because of all the crap sites at the top of the serps.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Very helpful!

It is now Day 2 here, and things are definitely looking up. The main thing was that there were no more casualties or fallen sites on my end, so it seems. I still have to double check the rest of the sites, but it sure looks that way. (thankfully!)

Looks like two of the sites that I manage were "shaken" a bit yesterday with them no longer coming up for their keywords at all, but it looks like now they may be creeping back up, after being knocked down 20+ spots, or off the first 10 pages altogether. These two sites are highly relevant, with original content in a medium-difficulty niche. They could have been considered "highly optimized" so I did add a little other text to their Title tags, and take the target keyword-density down a notch on the homepage. Looks like it either worked, or Google's just doing it's thing...

Lost 3 places, gained one back, but having looked on the SERPS one of the places I lost was to one of my own throw away WIKI post on a .edu which you can't even view without logging in -with NO backlinks - no visits, posted to a topic posted in 2008!
(I suppose on the plus side that means I'm just that damn good at writing spam!).

Looking to get the places back fairly quickly though, I don't post as often as I should!
